Home, I’m Darling
by Laura Wade
10-19 July
a thought-provoking comedy by Laura Wade
directed by Lynn Coory
Venue: Cochran Hall, 106 Cashmere Ave
Synopsis
Judy is revelling in her 1950’s domestic goddess lifestyle – but can it last?
When this award-winning comedy premiered in Wales in 2018, the Guardian reviewer described it as: “a scalpel-wielding dissection of the fetishisation of wifeliness” in which Wade portrays an “icing sugar-drenched life” which turns out to be not so sweet after all.
After its first highly successful season Home, I’m Darling played in London’s West End, followed by a UK-wide tour. Since then it has delighted audiences Australia and here in New Zealand – and now it’s our turn.

How to book
When you click on ‘Book now!’ (here, at the top of the page, or below), you’ll go directly to our listing on the iTICKET website.
If you don’t already have an account with iTICKET you’ll need to create one by filling in their registration form.
When you have booked, iTICKET will email your ticket/s to you. If you don’t receive the email, it means you haven’t completed the booking process. Keep the email for reference but it’s not needed at the venue, because we will tick you off on our list of attendees when you arrive.
Door sales
Online bookings for each performance close 3 hours before it begins. If a performance is not sold out by then, door sales are available from 30 minutes before a performance starts.
EFTPOS purchases are possible but, because internet service is somewhat unreliable in our Cashmere Avenue dead spot, you may find it less frustrating if you bring cash.
Block bookings
If you are organising a party of 10 or more, book early to be sure that seats are available.
If you make this booking through us instead of iTICKET, the organiser’s ticket is free. Email us at katbookings@gmail.com, for details as soon as you start planning your block booking. The bookings manager will ring you to discuss your payment and confirmation options.
Parking
There’s free parking in the surrounding streets but you may have to park some distance from the venue, so give yourself plenty of time.
Mobility access
There is parking for people with limited mobility on the hall forecourt. The entrance is between the hall and the pedestrian crossing. Access to the hall from the forecourt includes a ramp.
Refreshments
We have wine, orange juice, snacks and lollies for sale at the theatre from half an hour before the performance begins and during the interval. You can pay for these by EFTPOS but cash is quicker and more reliable. On opening night, we offer a free glass of wine/juice and nibbles.
